d20 Gnoll Mutations

I found this is my google docs drafts from two years ago and kinda surprised I never seemed to have posted it? I really enjoy hyenas in general, but (g)nasty gnolls are good stuff. I’m pretty certain these ones have all been blessed by some plague ridden Outer Entity.

1. Hyper-developed jaw muscles pulled into a rictus grin, a bite that can sever limbs.
2. A great flood of oil-slick black drool cascades from this gnoll’s polluted mouth, leaving a trail of decay as plants and small animals die from its fumes alone.
3. Long bony spines extend from this gnoll’s shaggy mane, each as long and sharp as a javelin.
4. This horribly bloated gnoll leans on its knees and begins to heave until gallons and gallons of bone-filled vomit. The skeletons of meals gone by rise and charge while the gnoll continues to spew.
5. The black-and-white doral mane of this gnoll extends down its tail. With a hideous chuckle, the gnoll turns and sprays a stink so foul it sears your eyes
6. This gnoll’s left arm is a withered claw, in fact the entire left side of their body looked aged and haggard. It’s touch chills you to the bone and robs you of your senses.
7. Long gashes of red show through their skin as this massive gnoll moves, it’s warped frame straining under the tension of the muscles beneath. Each movement is an agony, each strike is a battering ram.
8. A screaming slathering hole sits where this gnoll’s head should be, a long lashing tongue seeking, grabbing and dragging anything appetizing towards oblivion
9. Where gnoll’s flesh isn’t sloughing off, it is pocked and pimpled and jaundiced. Pustules burst with disturbing regularity, spreading its hideous disease.
10. The cackling of this gnoll is even madder than usual as it is intermixed with sickening belches of purple gas. Its wafting fumes fill those who smell it with sudden mad glee and uncontrollable laughter.
11. Like a terrible Jack-in-the-Box, this Gnoll’s neck springs out with alarming speed up to fifty feet away. Worse, it can worm its way around like a snake while extended.
12. A long scar splits this gnoll down the middle, it’s jagged line appearing like a badly healed stitch. It isn’t until they are upon you that it splits open and the entire gnoll opens into a gnashing mouth.
13. This gnoll’s back is covered in huge calcified tumors, forcing them to move on all fours like their hyena cousins. Despite this, they move with a terrible speed and purpose, their additional bulk allowing them to crash through obstacles like a rhino.
14. This gnoll’s movements leave half-second afterimages as though they were superimposed upon themselves. Their natural attacks leave spiritual wounds as well as physical wounds, being killed by this gnoll destroys your soul.
15. A bite from this Gnoll that isn’t cauterized right away will infect any non-gnoll. Spots will develop followed by ravenous hunger for meat then moods swinging between blind rage and uncontrollable laughing fits. On the next full moon the character will become a were-hyena.
16. Festering holes cover this gnoll’s torso, each infested with huge ravenous maggots. When grappling an opponent, the gnoll’s maggots will gnaw into them and dig their way to their organs.
17. This gnoll is empty inside. They can flatten themselves out and slither between cracks. More disturbingly they can wrap their skin around other creatures and steal their skills/abilities as long as they are “worn.”
18. This gnoll is two gnolls fused at the waist like a playing card King. They take turns being on top and have vastly different skill sets, but are able to synergize with ruthless efficiency.  
19. This gnoll has nine lives after connecting to their feline forebears, but only one body. Every time they die, their soul is shunted out as a crackling black mist that seeks to steal a new body. If it possesses a pregnant target (regardless of species) the target will give birth to the gnoll.
20. This scar covered gnoll is attended to by a pair of enslaved healers. As long as this gnoll maintains eye contact with a target and continues a gutteral chant, any wounds inflicted upon them is also inflicted upon their victim regardless of distance. The attentions of the healers allow the gnoll to out endure their victims.
